Terrazzo wines are made by the Terre Cortesi winery just outside of Ancona in Italy’s Marche province. Terrazzo wines are made from different blends of grapes native to this region, including Trebbiano and Verdicchio for the whites and Sangiovese and Montepulciano for the reds. Terrazzo red and white are DOC Esino wines. Esino is the name of a river that drains the Appennine watershed into the Adriatic near Ancona. Both wines are fruity, lively, and versatile. We call them “4-P” wines; perfect for picnics, parties, patio and poolside. Terrazzo white has more body and aroma than most Pinot Grigios. Terrazzo red is riper and more complex than many Chiantis. They are real wine values.
