Piemonte This region is admired above all for its red wines. It is Italy's westernmost with borders on Switzerland and France, and its name means the "foot of the mountain".
Lombardia The good wines in this region are made in the provinces of Mantova, Bergamo, and even Milano (Milan) which is the administrative center of Lombardy.
